Your recordings stay under your control.
TakeStack Studio for Mac and TakeStack Capture for iPhone use a local-first workflow. Project media is stored on your devices and transferred directly between the Mac and iPhone you pair.

Information handled by the apps
TakeStack handles video and audio files you choose, recordings you make, guide tracks, project settings, and synchronization information needed to build and export a video. TakeStack Capture uses the camera, microphone, and local network only after you grant the corresponding iPhone permissions.

Local media
Projects and source media remain on your Mac. Capture recordings are stored on your iPhone while they are prepared or waiting to transfer.

Device-to-device transfer
The guide and completed takes move over your local network between the paired Mac and iPhone. The connection uses encrypted transport and verifies the Studio certificate presented in the pairing code.

No advertising or automatic analytics
The apps do not include advertising SDKs, cross-app tracking, or third-party product analytics. They do not automatically send project media, usage history, or diagnostics to TakeStack.

Your controls
You can delete Mac project files using Finder and remove Capture data by deleting the app from your iPhone. Successfully transferred takes may remain on the iPhone for a limited recovery window before automatic cleanup.
Website, purchases, and support
The TakeStack website does not use advertising cookies or behavioral tracking. Links to Stripe may include the page or campaign name so a purchase can be attributed to the link you chose. Stripe and Apple process purchases under their own privacy policies.
- If you email support, TakeStack receives the address and information you choose to include.
- If you buy through Stripe or the App Store, the payment provider handles payment details and provides the transaction records needed for delivery, support, accounting, refunds, and legal obligations.
- Apple may provide aggregate App Store information or diagnostics that you choose to share through Apple.
- TakeStack does not sell personal information.

TakeStack is not directed to children under 13. If you have a privacy question or want to request access to or deletion of information you sent directly to TakeStack, email hello@cheerfulduck.com. This policy will be updated when the product's data practices materially change.
