TakeStack

Privacy policy

Your recordings stay under your control.

TakeStack for iPhone uses a local-first workflow. Recordings, project state, previews, and finished outputs remain on your device unless you explicitly choose Photos, Files, or Share.

Effective 1 September 2026

Information handled by the apps

TakeStack handles recordings you make, guide tracks, project settings, cue positions, and rendering information needed to build and export a video. It uses camera, microphone, and Photos access only after you grant the corresponding iPhone permissions.

  1. Local media

Projects, source media, private previews, and proof/export files remain on your iPhone. You decide if and when a copy goes to Photos, Files, or Share.

  2. Purchases and proof allowance

Apple processes TakeStack Pro purchases. TakeStack evaluates verified StoreKit entitlement information and stores proof-export usage locally. Purchase processing does not transmit your recordings to TakeStack.

  3. No advertising or automatic analytics

The apps do not include advertising SDKs, cross-app tracking, or third-party product analytics. They do not automatically send project media, usage history, or diagnostics to TakeStack.

  4. Your controls

You can remove projects and exports in the app or system destinations you selected. Deleting the app removes its local project and proof-allowance state, subject to iOS backup and restore behavior. Apple retains purchase records needed to restore eligible purchases.

Website, purchases, and support

The TakeStack website does not use advertising cookies or behavioral tracking. Apple processes iPhone purchases under Apple's privacy policy and provides verified entitlement and transaction status needed to deliver, restore, refund, and support Pro.

Contact and changes

TakeStack is not directed to children under 13. If you have a privacy question or want to request access to or deletion of information you sent directly to TakeStack, email hello@cheerfulduck.com. This policy will be updated when the product's data practices materially change.
